Long-term 1st Grade substitute Teacher

Saint Pius V School seeks a long-term substitute for our First Grade Teacher starting January 2027 (during maternity leave for our current teacher). Qualifications:

● Dedicated to the Catholic mission of the school

● Strong instructional and classroom management skills

● High level of personal organization and planning

● Ability to develop rigorous lesson plans and assessments

● Deep content area knowledge

● Strong communication and relationship building skills

● Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development

● Ability to utilize data to differentiate instruction

● Education in Early childhood is preferred, as well as experience in reading diagnosis and interventions.

● Experience with Saxon Phonics as well as Heggerty phonics systems is helpful

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree

Valid Rhode Island Teaching Certification (preferred)

Teaching experience or relevant experience (preferred)
