Job Description:

  • Vehicle Operation: Safely operating a lorry to transport goods over designated routes.
  • Loading and Unloading: Properly loading, securing, and unloading cargo, ensuring it's in good condition.
  • Route Planning: Determining the most efficient routes, considering traffic, weather, and delivery schedules.
  • Time Management: Meeting delivery deadlines and managing schedules effectively.
  • Documentation: Completing and maintaining accurate records of deliveries, fuel consumption, and other relevant information.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, reporting any mechanical issues, and arranging for repairs.
  • Customer Service: Interacting professionally with customers and other personnel during deliveries.
  • Compliance: Adhering to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Valid Driver's License: A valid license appropriate for the type of lorry being driven (e.g., Class 3, Class 4).
  • Clean Driving Record: A record free of major traffic violations or accidents.
  • Physical Fitness: The ability to lift and carry heavy items, as needed.
  • Time Management Skills: The ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
