Overview

You will join a London-based quant prop trading firm to help design and build low-latency trading solutions. In collaboration with the Head of Trading and the Quant Team, you’ll develop algorithms in Java, contribute to a greenfield trading platform, and ensure robust connectivity to financial exchanges. You’ll refine existing strategies and create utility tools to support trading across FX, equities and commodities. The role offers exposure to high-frequency trading in a flat, fast-moving environment with a strong, collaborative culture.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new trading algorithms in Java with the Quant Team
  • Help engineer a greenfield low-latency trading platform
  • Work on connectivity to financial exchanges
  • Improve and maintain existing trading strategies
  • Develop utility applications and Excel tools for trading activities
  • Collaborate with traders to gather requirements and resolve issues
Key requirements
  • Commercial Java development experience (Java preferred; C++ acceptable but Java core skills required)
  • Core Java and SQL
  • Understanding of general programming concepts
  • BSc/MSc/PhD in Computer Science or Machine Learning from a top 40 university
  • Diligent coder with proven programming fundamentals
  • Collaborative mindset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, flat-structured environment
  • Cross-functional communication with traders and quant teams
