Low Voltage Systems Engineer
Design and review technical solutions for weak-current systems in new and renovated data centers, manage procurement and bidding, develop technical standards and specifications, guide testing and acceptance, support construction management, and solve complex design and implementation challenges.
Responsibilities
- Design and review weak-current system solutions for data centers
- Analyze requirements and create structured cabling, security, network, audio-visual, and building intelligence designs
- Guide design firms in producing construction drawings
- Manage procurement and bidding processes
- Evaluate supplier technical proposals
- Review construction drawings and technical solutions
- Oversee deliverable quality control
- Develop technical standards, specifications, and workflows
- Guide system testing and verification
- Manage engineering acceptance, factory testing, installation inspection, and final approval
- Support on-site construction management
- Solve complex technical challenges
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with Power systems emphasis
- Professional Engineer certification beneficial but not mandatory
- 10 years of experience in electrical engineering or project management
- 3 to 8 years of verifiable design experience with medium and high voltage power systems and distribution
- Substation design experience desired
- Knowledge of transformers, switches, power quality, harmonic analysis, short circuit and arc flash analysis, grounding, and lightning protection
- Fluency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and power system modelling software
- Ability to work with teams and design professionals
- Ability to analyze problems from multiple perspectives
