Lower School Substitute Teacher

The Shorecrest Lower School (grades K-4) is searching for qualified elementary substitute teachers.
Essential Functions
- Maintains a discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and positive environment for all students and staff in accordance with school policies
- Implements lesson plans assigned by lead teacher, while ensuring the integrity of academic time and in a manner
- Organizes students for effective instruction
- May complete a Substitute Teacher Report Form for the regular classroom teacher if needed
- May collect and place students’ papers in regular teacher’s desk
- Complies with and supports school regulations and policies
- Assists lead teacher as needed if subbing for the associate or assistant teacher
- Performs other related duties as assigned by division head
- Holds a Bachelor's degree
- Enjoys working with children
- Proficient with using technology
- Able to lead daily class morning meetings and teach grade level reading & writing workshops, word study, and math investigations
- Creative and interested in guiding inquiry, project-based learning
- Demonstrates strong written, verbal and organizational skills
- Willing to do other duties as assigned by the Head of Lower School
