Safety Manager

Leadpoint Business Services is seeking a Safety Manager to support safety operations across our recycling facilities. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, keeping our facilities compliant with OSHA and other applicable regulations, and working with site leadership to improve safety performance.

The Safety Manager will work directly with On-Site Managers, employees, and client leadership to identify hazards, investigate incidents, complete safety audits, and make sure corrective actions are addressed. This role is hands-on and requires someone who is comfortable working in an active production environment and traveling between locations.

This is a full-time management position. We’re looking for someone who is confident communicating with employees and leadership, can handle investigations and compliance requirements, and knows how to turn safety standards into practical solutions.

Responsibilities of the Safety Manager

· Oversee and support safety programs across assigned facilities.

· Conduct regular safety inspections and identify workplace hazards.

· Work with site leadership to correct safety issues and track corrective actions through completion.

· Investigate employee injuries, accidents, and other incidents and lead Root Cause Analysis when needed.

· Maintain OSHA 300 logs, Sharps Logs, and other required safety records.

· Assist with workers’ compensation claims and provide supporting information as requested.

· Prepare safety reports and review injury and incident trends to identify areas for improvement.

· Support OSHA and other government inspections.

· Train employees and managers on safe work practices, safety requirements, and proper use of safety equipment.

· Review and update safety policies and procedures as needed.

· Provide guidance to managers and employees on OSHA, EPA, and company safety requirements.

· Participate in monthly safety meetings and support communication between locations.

· Help site leadership improve safety performance and reduce workplace injuries and workers’ compensation costs.

· Travel to operational locations as needed.

Requirements of the Safety Manager

· Safety Manager must reside on either the East or West region of the Unites States

· 3+ years of experience in a safety role, preferably in manufacturing, recycling, industrial, or production environments.

· Management experience in a production environment or comparable safety experience.

· Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, hazard identification, and risk management.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work independently, make decisions, and address safety concerns quickly.

· Strong organizational and time-management skills.

· Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.

· Ability to train and work with employees at all levels.

· Computer proficiency and experience maintaining safety records.

· OSHA 30-Hour certification preferred.

· First Aid/CPR certification preferred.

· Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.

· Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

· Must be authorized to work in the United States.

· Must be able to travel up to 75%.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position works in active recycling and production facilities where exposure to noise, moving equipment, fumes, airborne particles, vibration, and varying weather conditions may occur.

The position requires regular standing and walking, as well as the ability to climb, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and occasionally crawl. The Safety Manager must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
