Voted as one of Star Tribune’s Top Workplaces for the sixth year in a row, we do rural healthcare differently at LHS by providing a solid foundation of family practice providers with access to best-in-class specialty services, all right here at Lakewood. Across the spectrum of life, Lakewood Health System provides compassionate, quality care for the Brainerd Lakes region and beyond.

Nursing at Lakewood’s Care Center

There’s something meaningful about caring for people you get to know—their routines, their stories, and the small changes that tell you they need extra attention.

At Lakewood’s 87-bed, Medicare-certified skilled long-term care facility, you’ll build relationships with residents and families while putting your nursing knowledge into practice. Our Care Center provides care across long-term care, a specialized dementia unit, and a transitional care unit, offering team members the opportunity to work with residents at various stages of their healthcare journey. Your work will help residents maintain their abilities, receive personalized care, and feel respected in the place they call home.

Grow Your Nursing Career with a Shift That Fits Your Life

With day, evening, and overnight shifts available, you can explore a schedule that supports your life outside work while building your nursing career.

Whether you’re starting as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or bringing years of experience, you’ll work closely with Registered Nurses (RNs) and care team members to strengthen your skills in assessments, medications, treatments, and care coordination. Along the way, you’ll get to know residents and see the difference your care makes.

Let’s talk about your preferred shift and review the hours, weekend rotation, and holiday expectations together.
