LPN Med/Surg - $10k SOB

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Promotes the patient’s health by completing the nursing process.
• Takes vital signs, monitoring pain, and records narrative on patient’s condition;
• Carries out prescribed medical and nursing treatments;
• Educates patients on medications being administered.
• Listens to patient concerns; provides emotional support
• Supervises patient care technicians in the delivery of patient care
• Observes, documents and reports patient condition and progress to RNs and providers;
• Provides emotional support to patients and their families.
• Assists with maintenance and stocking of the unit as needed
• Completes abuse assessments and reports findings to RN staff
• Assists in early identification of emergent complications
• Educates patients in health care promotion, such as disease prevention, accident prevention,

Job Requirements:

• Licensed Practical Nursing License - by NYS Education Department (NYSED)
• BLS – Basic Life Support
• Previous hospital experience is desired along with experience in EMR, bar code scanning med pass, and wound care
• Ability to work in POD nursing structure with responsibility for CNA
