Summary

Oversee onsite security operations at a mining site: supervise guards, monitor CCTV/access systems, respond to incidents, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Duties and Responsibilities / KPI’s
1. Security Operations Management
1.1. Supervise daily security operations including patrols, access control, and control room activities
1.2. Ensure compliance with ISPS Code, Port Security Plan, VPSHR, and all security procedures.
1.3. Coordinate activities of contracted guards and law enforcement units (ERU/PSU).
1.4. Identify, assess, and escalate security risks, threats, and vulnerabilities.

2. Team Leadership and Supervision
2.1. Allocate duties, monitor performance, and enforce discipline.
2.2. Provide coaching, on-the-job training, and performance feedback
2.3. Act as Superintendent when delegated and cover other supervisors when required.

3. Surveillance and Systems Control
3.1. Ensure CCTV systems are operational and monitored effectively
3.2. Oversee access control systems and perimeter security infrastructure.
3.3. Ensure communication systems (radios, networks) are functional and available.

4. Incident and Emergency Management
4.1. Respond to and manage security incidents and emergencies
4.2. Ensure preparedness for emergency response plan
4.3. Conduct investigations and submit incident reports

5. Asset and Resource Management
5.1. Maintain accountability of all security equipment and vehicles.
5.2. Ensure proper maintenance and reporting of faults or losses
5.3. Inspect security infrastructure (fences, gates, lighting, and guard posts).

6. Reporting and compliance
6.1. Prepare and submit daily, weekly and incident reports on time
6.2. Maintain accurate logs, registers, and documentation.
6.3. Conduct audits and security risk assessments using ESRM principles.

7. Stakeholder Management
7.1. Maintain effective management liaison with internal departments and external stakeholders
7.2. Support operations between security, operations, and safety teams.

Operational Effectiveness
• 75% compliance with Operations Security Plan and SOPs
• Reduction in number of security incidents month-on-month
• Incident response time within defined SLA (≤ 10 minutes)

Surveillance and Systems
• CCTV system uptime ≥ 99%
• 100% completion of daily system checks

Team Performance
• ≥ 95% guard compliance with contract KPIs.
• 100% completion of team briefings and toolbox talks
• ≥ 98% attendance and discipline compliance Reporting and Compliance

Reporting and Compliance
• 100% on-time submission of reports
• ≥ 98% accuracy in logs and documentation
• 100% completion of scheduled audits and risk assessments

Asset Management
• 100% accountability of assigned equipment
• ≥ 95% preventive maintenance compliance

Safety and Risk
• Zero HSE violations within security operations
• 100% participation in safety training and drills

Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE
Essential:
• High School Diploma with formal security training
• Experience in security operations (port, industrial, or similar)
Desirable:
• Diploma in Security Management or related field
• Experience in mining, port, or large industrial environments

1.8. Operate machinery, tools, and equipment safely, following manufacturer's instructions and the AML safety guidelines.
1.9. Maintain a clean and orderly workspace to reduce hazards and prevent accidents.
1.9.1. Promote a culture of health and safety awareness among coworkers by encouraging safe behaviors and reporting unsafe conditions.
1.9.2. Participate in health and safety committees or meetings as required, providing input and suggestions for improving workplace safety.
1.9.3. Keep accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities as required by company policy and regulations.

Environment
1.1. Oversee and monitor the environmental performance of your department's functions, ensuring high levels of awareness and compliance with company environmental policies and relevant environmental laws.
1.2. Regularly review environmental performance metrics and indicators to track progress, identify trends, and address areas for improvement.
1.3. Ensure all environmental incidents are reported promptly and investigated thoroughly in line with company policies and legal requirements.
1.4. Uphold a culture of environmental responsibility and compliance within the organization by setting clear expectations for incident reporting and response at all levels.
1.5. Collaborate with the Environment team to identify opportunities for environmental improvement and develop strategic programs to enhance sustainability practices.
