Duties and Responsibilities / KPI’s
1. Operational Technology Systems Management
1.1. Install, configure, and maintain OT systems including SCADA, DCS, PLCs, and HMI platforms
1.2. Ensure continuous availability and reliability of automation and control systems
1.3. Conduct system diagnostics and root cause analysis for faults and failures
2. Maintenance & Troubleshooting
2.1. Provide advanced troubleshooting support for PLCs, instrumentation, and control networks
2.2. Respond promptly to system breakdowns to minimize downtime
2.3. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities
2.4. Support technicians with complex technical issues
3. Automation & Process Optimization
3.1. Analyze control system performance and plant data to identify improvements
3.2. Optimize control logic and system configuration for efficiency and throughput
3.3. Support commissioning and testing of new systems and upgrades
4. Cybersecurity & System Integrity
4.1. Implement and maintain OT cybersecurity controls in line with company policies
4.2. Monitor for vulnerabilities, threats, and unauthorized access
4.3. Ensure secure system configurations, updates, and patch management
5. Network & Infrastructure Support
5.1. Maintain industrial network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls)
5.3. Ensure reliable communication between OT systems and plant equipment
5.4. Diagnose and resolve network-related operational issues
6. Project Support & Implementation
6.1. Participate in system upgrades, expansions, and new installations
6.2. Assist in design, specification, and evaluation of OT solutions
6.3. Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders
7. Documentation & Reporting
7.1. Maintain accurate system documentation and network architecture records
7.2. Track system incidents, failures, and maintenance activities
7.3. Prepare technical reports and performance summaries
8. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
8.1. Work closely with Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering teams
8.2. Provide technical guidance and support across departments
8.3. Liaise with vendors and service providers
9. Training & Knowledge Transfer
9.1. Train operators and maintenance teams on OT systems
9.2. Develop SOPs, manuals, and technical documentation
9.3. Promote knowledge sharing and continuous learning

10.1. Ensure adherence to company standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
10.2. Follow change management procedures for all system modifications

Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge
1. Qualifications
1.1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Information Technology, or related field
2. Experience
2.1. Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in industrial automation or operational technology
2.2. Experience in mining, processing plants, or heavy industry (preferred)
2.3. Proven experience with SCADA, PLC, and control systems
3. Technical Knowledge
3.1. Industrial Control Systems (ICS), PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen Bradley)
3.2. SCADA/DCS systems and HMI platforms
3.3. Industrial networking and communication protocols
3.4. Cybersecurity in OT environments
3.5. Instrumentation and process control systems
3.6. Data monitoring and analytics tools (advantage)
