LR_Supervisor - Dispatch (398821)
Summary
Supervise real-time dispatch of mining equipment using fleet management systems to optimize haulage, monitor KPIs, and coordinate with operations and maintenance teams in a 24/7 control room.
Duties and Responsibilities / KPI’s
1. Fleet Dispatch & Real-Time Production Control
1.1. Supervise real-time dispatch of haul trucks, loaders, and auxiliary equipment using Fleet Management Systems (FMS) to optimize production flow.
1.2. Monitor and control equipment allocation to minimize queue times, optimize cycle times, and maximize payload efficiency.
1.3. Ensure adherence to short-term mine plans, material routing (ore/waste), and dumping strategies.
2. System Monitoring & Data Integrity
2.1. Ensure accurate and continuous operation of dispatch systems (e.g., CAT MineStar, or equivalent).
2.2. Validate data inputs, including truck counts, cycle times, payloads, and delays, for accuracy and reporting integrity.
2.3. Investigate and resolve system alarms, data anomalies, and communication failures in real time.
3. Production Optimization & KPI Management
3.1. Monitor key production KPIs, including tons moved, cycle times, equipment utilization, and availability.
3.2. Identify inefficiencies such as bottlenecks, queuing, underloading, or excessive idle time and implement corrective actions.
3.3. Support achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly production targets through optimized dispatch strategies.
4. Coordination with Operations & Maintenance
4.1. Liaise with mining supervisors, planners, and survey teams to align dispatch activities with mine plans and priorities.
4.2. Coordinate with maintenance teams to manage equipment downtime, breakdowns, and planned maintenance schedules.
4.3. Ensure seamless communication between field operations and dispatch to maintain operational continuity.
5. Reporting, Analysis & Continuous Improvement
5.1. Generate and review shift reports on production performance, delays, and equipment efficiency.
5.2. Conduct root cause analysis on production losses and recommend improvement initiatives.
5.3. Drive continuous improvement in dispatch strategies through data analytics and system optimization.
Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge
• Diploma or bachelor's degree in mining engineering, engineering, or a related discipline
• Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in open-pit mining operations, with at least 2–3 years in dispatch or fleet control
• Strong understanding of mining production cycles (load-haul-dump processes)
• Proven experience with FMS platforms (e.g., Fast2Mine, Frotcom, etc.).
• Knowledge of production reporting systems and mining KPIs

Working Conditions

guidelines.
1.9. Maintain a clean and orderly workspace to reduce hazards and prevent accidents.

reporting unsafe conditions.
1.9.2. Participate in health and safety committees or meetings as required, providing input and suggestions for
improving workplace safety.
1.9.3. Keep accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities as required by company policy
and regulations.

1.1. Oversee and monitor the environmental performance of your department's functions, ensuring high levels of
awareness and compliance with company environmental policies and relevant environmental laws.
1.2. Regularly review environmental performance metrics and indicators to track progress, identify trends, and address areas for improvement.
