What You'll Do
As a Yard Associate, you'll play a vital role in maintaining efficient yard operations while delivering exceptional customer service. You'll work closely with customers, drivers, dispatch, and store teams to ensure materials are received, stored, loaded, and delivered accurately and safely.
Customer Service & Order Fulfillment

Assist walk-in retail customers, contractors, and business-to-business customers with material selection and loading.

Provide outstanding customer service and represent Bliffert professionally during every interaction.

Pull customer orders accurately and prepare materials for pickup or delivery.

Process credit returns and material returns with attention to detail.

Recognize customer satisfaction concerns and proactively resolve issues related to loaded materials.

Communicate effectively with customers regarding orders, products, and yard operations.

Support the company mission of creating raving fans through exceptional service.
Yard Operations & Material Handling

Work with Dispatch and store management to maintain the daily flow of yard and delivery operations.

Keep loads pulled, staged, and ready for delivery trucks as they return for additional runs.

Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently while properly handling building materials.

Verify that incoming materials are inspected, counted, and checked for damage.

Ensure incoming and outgoing shipments match purchase orders in quantity and quality.

Organize, stock, and move lumber and building materials throughout the yard.

Assist at other company yard locations as needed to support business operations.
Equipment & Inventory Management

Safely operate forklifts and other approved equipment to move materials.

Use power tools, saws, and cutting equipment safely to perform rough cuts and material preparation.

Maintain accurate inventory through proper receiving, stocking, and material movement practices.

Read measurements accurately and utilize measuring tools and equipment.

Support inventory control by ensuring products are stored properly and accessible for customer orders.
Safety & Yard Maintenance

Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.

Maintain clean, organized, and safe yard, warehouse, and storage areas.

Perform general housekeeping and landscaping duties throughout the yard.

Lift, carry, and move building materials safely while following proper lifting techniques.

Report safety concerns, accidents, equipment issues, or workplace injuries immediately to management.

Help create a safe working environment for customers, team members, and delivery personnel.
Pay Range
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
