M&E Coordinator
Summary
Oversee on-site Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) systems like ACMV, electrical, and fire protection for construction projects in Singapore, ensuring compliance with local codes and coordinating with consultants and subcontractors.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise all Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works on site, including ACMV, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and sanitary systems.
- Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure M&E works are carried out according to approved drawings and specifications.
- Review M&E shop drawings, method statements, and material submissions before submission to consultants.
- Monitor site progress and ensure M&E works are completed on schedule and within project requirements.
- Coordinate M&E works with architectural and structural works to avoid clashes and delays.
- Attend coordination meetings, site meetings, and technical discussions with consultants and subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with Singapore authorities’ requirements, including BCA and relevant statutory regulations.
- Monitor testing and commissioning of M&E systems and ensure proper documentation submission.
- Identify and resolve technical issues on site related to M&E works.
- Ensure safety standards and proper work procedures are followed on site.
- Assist Project Manager in planning and coordinating M&E installation activities.
- Prepare progress reports and maintain proper site records for M&E works.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant M&E coordination experience in building construction projects in Singapore.
- Good knowledge of M&E systems such as ACMV, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and ELV systems.
- Familiar with local authority requirements and submission procedures in Singapore.
- Ability to read and interpret M&E drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong coordination and communication skills with consultants and subcontractors.
- Familiar with BIM coordination and clash detection (preferred).
- Able to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD (BIM knowledge is an advantage).
