M&E Design Coordinator / Senior M&E Design Coordinator
Summary
Coordinates mechanical and electrical building systems design with architects and engineers, reviews drawings and BIM models, and ensures compliance with local codes using Revit, Navisworks, and ACC.
Job Responsibilities:
Coordinate M&E design works with architectural, structural and other engineering disciplines.
Review M&E drawings, specifications, and BIM models to ensure coordination, constructability, and compliance with project requirements.
Conduct design coordination meetings and monitor the resolution of technical and coordination issues.
Perform BIM clash detection and coordinate model updates using Revit, Navisworks, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
Review shop drawings, material submissions, and technical proposals submitted by subcontractors.
Ensure compliance with local regulations, codes, and authority requirements, including BCA, SCDF, PUB, LTA, NEA, and SP Group.
Coordinate authority submissions and assist in obtaining statutory approvals where required.
Provide technical support to the construction team by resolving design-related issues, RFIs, and site coordination matters.
Monitor design progress, deliverables, and submission schedules to meet project milestones.
Evaluate design changes, value engineering proposals, and variation orders for technical feasibility.
Maintain accurate design documentation, drawing registers, meeting minutes, and coordination records.
Work closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams to ensure effective communication and successful project delivery.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design quality, coordination efficiency, and project outcomes.
Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned to support overall project execution and team objectives
Job Requirements:
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in M&E design coordination for building projects.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Able to work independently while effectively managing multiple stakeholders and project deadlines
