M&E Engineer (quantity Surveyor Cum Drafter)

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare M&E cost estimates, detailed quantity take-offs, tender submissions and quotations.
• Review tender drawings, specifications, Bills of Quantities and contract requirements.
• Prepare M&E shop drawings, coordination drawings and as-built drawings using AutoCAD; BIM/Revit knowledge is advantageous.
• Coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire-protection and other building-service works.
• Source quotations, evaluate suppliers and subcontractors, and prepare cost comparisons.
• Prepare progress claims, variation orders, subcontractor claims and final accounts.
• Monitor project budgets, material usage, procurement schedules and cost performance.
• Attend site meetings, conduct measurements and coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors and site teams.
• Identify drawing discrepancies, technical conflicts and potential cost implications before execution.
• Ensure drawings and installations comply with approved specifications, relevant Singapore codes and authority requirements.
• Maintain proper tender, drawing, quantity, claim and project records.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Quantity Surveying or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant M&E construction experience in Singapore.
• Practical experience in M&E quantity surveying, cost estimation and drafting is required.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel; BIM/Revit or CostX knowledge is an advantage.
• Able to read and interpret architectural, structural and M&E drawings and specifications.
• Familiar with local construction practices, relevant codes, tender procedures and contract administration.
• Experience in A&A, renovation, fit-out, reinstatement, commercial or institutional projects is preferred.
• Able to work independently, manage multiple deadlines and coordinate effectively with project stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, numerical, drafting, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Candidates must have the legal right to work in Singapore.
