Description
We are hiring on behalf of a few established clients with major projects underway in Johor Bahru: high-rise building development and data centre development. We are looking for M&E professionals at Engineer, Senior Engineer and Manager levels for both.
The role
You will plan, coordinate and oversee mechanical and electrical works from design coordination through to handover. You will make sure works are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and to the required quality standards. You can apply for either project type, or both.
Track A: High-Rise Building Project
- M&E works covering electrical, ACMV, plumbing and sanitary, fire protection and ELV systems
- Coordination with the main contractor, consultants and trades across multiple floors and building services
- Authority submissions and approvals (e.g. TNB, BOMBA, CCC requirements)
Track B: Data Centre Project
- Mission-critical power and cooling systems: MV/LV switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS and battery systems
- Precision cooling, chilled water systems and CRAH/CRAC units
- Fire detection and suppression, BMS/EPMS and ELV systems
- Integrated testing and commissioning (Level 1-5), including witnessing and documentation
- Working to high uptime and redundancy standards (e.g. Tier III or equivalent)
Responsibilities (both tracks)
- Plan, coordinate and supervise M&E works against the project programme
- Coordinate with main contractors, consultants, clients, subcontractors and other trades
- Review and coordinate shop drawings, BIM/CAD coordination drawings, material submissions and method statements
- Monitor progress, workmanship, manpower and material deliveries
- Identify and resolve technical and site coordination issues early
- Propose practical value engineering solutions
- Manage and evaluate M&E subcontractors and vendors
- Plan and witness testing and commissioning
- Ensure compliance with specifications, quality requirements and SHE regulations
- Support handover, defect rectification and close-out documentation
Senior Engineer and Manager roles will additionally lead the M&E team, manage budgets and cost control, review progress and variation claims, and report to project management.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or a related engineering field
- M&E Engineer: 2-4 years of relevant experience
- Senior Engineer: 5-8 years of relevant experience
- Manager: 10+ years of relevant experience on large-scale projects
- Hands-on M&E experience in high-rise buildings or data centres (experience in both is a plus)
- Good knowledge of M&E drawings, specifications, site coordination, and testing and commissioning
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; Revit/BIM and MS Project are advantages
- BEM / PE registration or relevant competent person certification is an advantage for Senior and Manager roles
- Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
