M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) Engineer
Job Roles and Responsibilities:
- Coordination of M&E Works:
Coordinate all M&E installation activities with consultants, main contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors.
Ensure that M&E works are integrated smoothly with architectural and structural components. - Planning and Scheduling:
Develop and update M&E work schedules to align with overall project timelines.
Monitor progress and ensure timely delivery of M&E installations. - Drawing and Documentation Review:
Review M&E shop drawings, coordination drawings, and As-Built drawings.
Verify that drawings comply with project specifications, design intent, and relevant standards. - Site Supervision and Quality Control:
Supervise on-site M&E works to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and design specifications.
Attend site inspections and resolve site issues promptly. - Liaison with Stakeholders:
Serve as the main point of contact between project management, consultants, subcontractors, and authorities for all M&E matters.
Facilitate regular coordination meetings and ensure follow-up actions are completed. - Compliance and Safety:
Ensure that M&E works comply with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Coordinate testing, commissioning, and statutory inspections. - Problem Solving and Technical Support:
Identify and resolve technical issues related to M&E systems.
Provide support to site teams and ensure proper implementation of solutions. - Cost and Resource Management:
Monitor material usage and ensure sufficient stock of M&E materials.
Assist in managing M&E budgets and cost control.
Key Activities:
- Conduct pre-construction coordination meetings for M&E services.
- Prepare and track M&E work schedules and progress reports.
- Carry out M&E coordination drawings and clash detection (with BIM tools if applicable).
- Check material submissions and equipment specifications for compliance.
- Ensure all M&E works are tested and commissioned properly.
- Collaborate with authority agencies (e.g., SCDF, BCA, PUB) for inspections and approvals.
- Issue site instructions and follow up on non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Prepare documentation for handover, including O&M manuals and As-Built drawings.
