The client is a Process Maintenance and Construction company active in Jurong Island and Tuas, specializing in building new plants and performing maintenance works.
Job Summary
Lead and supervise mechanical and electrical teams in process plant construction and maintenance, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and efficient project execution.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications for steel structures, mechanical systems, and electrical single-line diagrams to guide project execution
- Prepare material take-offs and cutting plans to optimize resource use and fabrication accuracy
- Implement Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) to ensure welding quality and compliance
- Lead and supervise a team of 30 personnel, coordinating daily tasks and maintaining team performance
- Conduct daily toolbox meetings at 7:30 am to communicate safety protocols and work plans
- Oversee fabrication processes for steel structures, piping, and storage tanks to meet project requirements
- Manage work activities in harsh climate conditions from 8 am to 7 pm, Monday to Saturday, ensuring productivity and safety
- Apply experience working in process plants at Jurong Island to address site-specific challenges
- Utilize computer skills in Word, Excel, and AutoCAD to prepare documentation and technical drawings
Required competencies and certifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 4 to 5 years of relevant experience
- Workplace Safety and Health Management in Construction Industry certification valid for 4 years
- WSQ Supervise Workplace Safety and Health in Process Plant certification valid for 4 years
- WSQ Supervise Safe Lifting Operations Course certification valid for 3 years
- WSQ Supervise Work in Confined Space Operation certification valid for 3 years
