M73 - Full Stack Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer (L3) to design, develop, and deliver scalable, reliable, and maintainable software solutions.

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership to a team of full-stack engineers, drive engineering best practices, and collaborate closely with business and product stakeholders to deliver high-quality digital solutions.

This role requires strong hands-on technical expertise, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into practical technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development & Architecture

• Design and develop scalable, reliable, secure, and maintainable software applications.
• Write clean, efficient, testable, and maintainable code following software engineering best practices.
• Develop full-stack applications using technologies such as React, TypeScript, Node.js, Python, Go, and PostgreSQL.
• Design and implement solutions using cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Conduct code reviews and system design reviews to ensure software quality and architectural consistency.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, and performance bottlenecks, and recommend appropriate solutions.

Technical Leadership & Team Collaboration

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of full-stack software engineers.
• Lead engineering activities throughout the software development lifecycle, from solution design to production deployment.
• Mentor and coach engineers on software architecture, coding standards, automated testing, and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Promote continuous improvement in engineering standards, team productivity, and software quality.

Solution Design & Stakeholder Engagement

• Work closely with business and product stakeholders to understand requirements, challenges, and objectives.
• Translate complex or ambiguous business requirements into clear, actionable technical specifications.
• Recommend suitable technical solutions while explaining architectural decisions, trade-offs, and potential risks.
• Break down complex technical challenges into manageable development tasks.
• Balance system performance, scalability, maintainability, and delivery timelines.

DevOps & Continuous Improvement

• Improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and operational practices.
• Implement automated testing and development practices to enhance software reliability.
• Identify opportunities to optimise system architecture, development workflows, and engineering productivity.
• Explore and adopt AI-assisted software development tools to improve coding efficiency, testing, and software delivery.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies, software engineering trends, and industry best practices.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in software engineering, including developing, scaling, and delivering production-grade web applications.
• Proven experience in full-stack software development and technical leadership.
• Experience mentoring software engineers and improving engineering practices.

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, and Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, system design, and scalable application development.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, system integration, and backend development.
• Experience with automated testing, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment practices.
• Familiarity with Python and Go will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of AI-assisted software engineering tools and their practical applications will be beneficial.
