M74 - Full Stack Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Full-Stack Engineer to design, develop and maintain scalable AI-powered digital applications and services. The role focuses on building AI-enabled solutions, including chatbots, AI agents, Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations and data-driven applications.

The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver secure, high-performance applications and support the integration of emerging AI technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy and maintain scalable, secure and high-performance full-stack web applications, including frontend interfaces, backend services and APIs.
• Build AI-powered applications and chatbots with session management, contextual understanding, streaming responses and error handling.
• Develop and integrate MCP servers and clients to enable secure access to data, tools and internal or external services.
• Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions into applications.
• Implement security controls, including authentication, authorisation, access management, data protection and AI security safeguards.
• Develop automated tests and evaluations to ensure application reliability, AI response quality and system interoperability.
• Collaborate with DevOps and QA teams to implement CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments and monitor application performance.
• Optimise application performance, AI response quality, latency and resource utilisation.
• Maintain technical documentation and evaluate emerging technologies to support continuous improvement.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in software development or a related IT field.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Full-Stack Development

• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, with experience in React or Next.js.
• Experience in backend development using Python (FastAPI) or Node.js.
• Experience designing and integrating REST, GraphQL or gRPC APIs, including WebSockets for real-time communication.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, Docker and containerised application deployments.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or GitLab CI, along with automated unit, integration and end-to-end testing.
• Understanding of application monitoring, logging, tracing, caching, load balancing, rate limiting and performance optimisation.

AI & MCP Technologies

• Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs or SDKs such as Amazon Bedrock, OpenAI, Anthropic or equivalent platforms.
• Experience with prompt management, structured outputs and tool/function calling.
• Hands-on experience developing MCP servers and integrating MCP clients, including tool definitions, access controls and schema validation.
• Experience implementing RAG pipelines, including data ingestion, embeddings, semantic or hybrid search and vector databases.
• Understanding of AI application testing, response evaluation, monitoring and performance optimisation.

Security

• Knowledge of web application and cloud security best practices, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, IAM, encryption and secrets management.
• Familiarity with OWASP guidelines, Content Security Policy (CSP), CORS configuration and XSS prevention.
• Understanding of AI security risks, including prompt injection, sensitive-data leakage and unauthorised tool execution.

Good to Have

• Experience developing and deploying AI agents using OpenAI Agents SDK, LangGraph or Amazon Bedrock AgentCore.
• Experience with AI workflow orchestration, tool integration, context and memory management.
• Experience delivering production-scale conversational AI applications.
• Familiarity with web analytics tools such as WOGAA or Google Analytics.
• Knowledge of Singapore Government IM8 security and data protection requirements.
