Machine Learning & AI Engineer

General Information

We are looking for an experienced AI Engineer to design, build, and operate production-ready, enterprise-grade AI solutions with measurable business impact.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role with a strong focus on LLM-based applications, agentic AI workflows, and scalable AI platforms. You will combine AI engineering expertise with strong software engineering and cloud-native practices to deliver secure, reliable, observable, and compliant AI products.

As a player-coach, you will provide technical direction and guide a small cross-functional AI team while actively contributing to architecture, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement end-to-end AI systems, including data pipelines, backend services, frontend interfaces, and AI orchestration components.
• Develop and operate LLM-based applications, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) workflows, and agentic AI solutions.
• Build and maintain AI platform and harness components, including tool integrations, context management, guardrails, and evaluation of pipelines.
• Lead and guide a small cross-functional AI development team, providing technical clarity, direction, and hands-on support.
• Establish feedback loops and measurable evaluation frameworks to improve AI quality, performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Ensure AI solutions are production-ready, scalable, observable, secure, and aligned with enterprise and regulatory requirements.
• Apply post-training and fine-tuning techniques to improve model performance for relevant use cases.
• Deliver AI functionality iteratively, with clear business outcomes and stakeholder value.
• Collaborate with R&D, product management, quality, cybersecurity, sales, support, services, Global IT, and external technology partners.
• Contribute technical expertise and forward-looking know-how to support the division’s AI strategy.

Your Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a comparable field.
• Proven experience designing, building, and operating AI- or LLM-based applications in production environments.
• Strong knowledge and track record of AI engineering skills (e.g. Python, Pytorch, Transformers, post-training, fine-tuning of LLMs, RAG frameworks, agent architectures)
• Experience designing reliable, secure, and scalable enterprise applications.
• Experience leading small teams or technical initiatives in a hands-on, player-coach capacity.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience collaborating effectively in international and cross-functional teams.
