Machine Learning Engineer (GenAI / LLM) – Financial Services
Summary
A hands-on engineer builds Python-based ML and Generative AI applications for banking use cases — LLM-powered document processing, information extraction, and RAG — working with a senior engineer and business stakeholders. Role is based in Central, Hong Kong (IFC) with a hybrid arrangement.
Working closely with a Senior Engineer and cross-functional teams, you will help build practical Machine Learning and Generative AI applications, turning new ideas into useful solutions for real-world business needs.

Key Responsibilities- Design and develop Python-based Machine Learning and Generative AI applications for banking-related use cases.
- Build and improve LLM-powered solutions, including document processing, information extraction, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
- Explore new AI technologies and propose innovative approaches to improve existing workflows.
- Participate in technical discussions, proof-of-concept development, testing, and solution implementation.
- Work closely with engineers and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into practical AI solutions.
- Help ensure AI applications are reliable, maintainable, and suitable for their intended use.
- Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related discipline.
- Around 3–5 years of relevant experience in Machine Learning, AI Engineering, or software development involving AI; candidates with 2+ years of strong hands-on experience are also welcome.
- Proficiency in Python and experience using relevant Python libraries for AI/ML development.
- Practical experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), or Machine Learning applications.
- Experience with RAG, NLP, document processing, or information extraction is an advantage.
- Financial services or banking experience is highly preferred, particularly familiarity with banking workflows.
