Machine Learning Research Scientist
Description
Join a team building AI systems that can autonomously conduct machine learning research. You will develop systems that generate research ideas, run experiments, and improve models, helping advance automated scientific discovery.
What You'll Do- Develop autonomous research systems that ideate, experiment, and improve customer models.
- Work with engineers to build and deploy production-ready research systems.
- Apply reinforcement learning and other post-training methods to reasoning models and automate parts of the machine learning research process.
- Track developments in AI research and research automation.
- Two to eight years of experience in AI research or engineering.
- A master's degree or PhD in computer science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or a quantitative field, or equivalent research experience.
- Hands-on model training experience beyond building RAG or multi-agent systems with LLM APIs, including reinforcement learning or post-training work on large language models, agent models, or genetic algorithms.
- Ability to independently ship production Python code and apply sound software engineering practices.
- Evidence of self-directed research, such as exploring new directions with minimal supervision; top-tier ML publications or experience on a leading AI research team are valued.
- Experience with PyTorch, distributed training, or large-scale ML infrastructure is beneficial, as is an interest in automated scientific research.
