Our product range includes 5-panel profiles in 20 colors made from 29- or 26-gauge metal. Trim pieces are available in 26-gauge metal in all 20 colors and 10' lengths. Job Summary:
The Machine Operator is responsible for safely operating powered industrial equipment (sit-down/stand-up forklifts, loaders) to move heavy, bulky materials, while also setting up and operating machinery (saws, routers, grinders, drills) to process metal or lumber to specifications. This role includes loading/unloading trucks, managing inventory via scans, and ensuring a safe, clean work environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Forklift Operation: Operate heavy-duty forklifts (18,000lb+ capacity frequently required in steel) to move structural steel, scrap metal, or timber. Load and unload flatbed trailers and containers.
- Machine Operation: Set up, adjust, and operate metal roll former machinery, custom trim machines to cut and shape materials to specifications.
- Material Handling: Transport raw materials to workstations and transfer finished products to staging areas.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to strict OSHA regulations and company safety procedures, including wearing PPE (safety boots, safety gloves)
- Maintenance & Quality Control: Perform daily pre-shift inspections of forklifts and machines. Inspect finished parts/lumber for accuracy using tape measures or calipers.
- Documentation: Maintain inventory records, cut sheets, daily activity logs, and any required production documentation.
