Machine Operator
Premise Rewind/Reel in a Box Associate job duties and responsibilities:
Premise Rewind - Responsible for rewinding and cutting cables to meet specific customer order length; rewinding in-process or finished cable that has an unacceptable wind, or a potential problem (customer return, process problem, damage).
General Requirements
- Supports the company wide clean/neat and TPM programs; maintains a safe and orderly workplace and is constantly alert to safety issues during daily operations.
- Performs additional duties and tasks as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.

The following describe the work categories associated with the essential duties and responsibilities of this job. The duties and functions shall be distributed between the two job areas in order to maintain efficient operation.
Premise Rewinding
- Rewinding: Rewinds cable for various reasons, the most common being: To cut lengths from work in-process inventory, correct the layer wind problem on an in-process core or cable, or rewind a product to check a potential problem area.
- RIB Rewinding: Rewinding master reels of product to specified cut lengths. Cut lengths are labeled boxed and palletized and prepped for shipping.
Education, and Certification:
- High School or equivalent.
- Core skill level requirements as listed.
- Completion of certification in all aspects of the job.
On-the-Job Experience and Training Requirements:
Two to three weeks of formal company training including both classroom and on the job training. This training includes: operation of the Premise rewinding, target gauge setup and operation, product tracking system, factory orders, procedures, job specific paperwork.
Mastery of the Premise rewind and RIB process is generally accomplished in two months.

This includes following established health and safety policies and procedures, maintaining a clean, organized work area, wearing, and properly storing all personal protective equipment (PPE), and actively engaging as a safety conscious worker with personal safety and wellness as a priority.
