Machine Operator/Maintenance Technician

We are excited to announce a unique full-time opening for a Machine Operator/Maintenance Technician (Former Setter)

This unique opening is part of an early phase of hat making. This role is responsible for the production and quality of products being produced off of the machines and formers, maintaining record keeping of machine set-ups, and performing waste control during feeding of machines. The position requires excellent math skills and the ability to manage time, while having open communications. You will work with skilled mentors as they share their craft with you and pass down decades of knowledge. This full-time position has the following schedule: Monday – Friday, 6am – 2:30pm (Memorial Day through Labor Day 5am-1:30pm)

We are looking for the following:

• Must have strong mathematical competency
• Machining skills
• Ability to repair old parts and machine new parts
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and make repairs to production equipment
• Strong work ethic
• Excellent attention to detail
• High level of multi-tasking and individual accountability
• Positive demeanor, willing to cross train where needed
• Ability to lift/push/pull 25-50 lbs. on a regular basis
• Ability to work with wool materials and products
• Ability to navigate stairs/stairwells and walk throughout our buildings
• Ability to work in environments that can become extremely hot/humid
