Machine Shop Production Supervisor II
Blentech Corporation designs and manufactures advanced, custom-engineered food processing systems for world-class food producers. We build heavy-duty, high-precision stainless steel equipment that feeds the world.
The Role
We are looking for a hands-on Machine Shop Production Supervisor to lead our Santa Rosa machine shop. In this role, you will bridge the gap between engineering designs and physical manufacturing, guiding daily floor operations, mentoring machinists, and ensuring our custom machinery meets rigorous standards for quality and precision.
This is a true hybrid role for an experienced machinist who loves solving technical shop-floor challenges, working with CAD/CAM, and leading a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Shop Floor Leadership: Manage daily tasks, balance skill levels, and coordinate shop schedules with Project Managers to keep production on track.
- Technical Oversight & Quality: Conduct first-article inspections against CAD drawings. Provide "over-the-shoulder" technical support for complex setups on CNC mills, lathes, and manual machines.
- Programming & Process Optimization: Utilize Mastercam/Fusion 360 to optimize CNC machining strategies, troubleshoot G-code, and eliminate bottlenecks using Lean principles.
- Safety & Maintenance: Enforce Cal/OSHA standards (PPE, LOTO) and manage preventive maintenance schedules across shop equipment.
- Team Development: Train and mentor, a team of 6+ machinists, conduct regular reviews, and foster professional growth.
- Tooling & Inventory: Oversee procurement of raw materials, inserts, and specialized tooling to maintain inventory levels.
- Experience: 7+ years in CNC machining and manufacturing, with 2+ years in a supervisory, team lead, or shop leadership capacity.
- Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in CNC programming (G-code), CAD/CAM (Mastercam or Fusion 360), and interpreting complex blueprints/GD&T.
- Material Knowledge: Strong background machining stainless steel and food-grade alloys.
- Leadership Skills: Proven track record of mentoring staff, managing production schedules, and resolving conflict on the shop floor.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand/walk on the shop floor, perform close-up inspections, and lift up to 40 lbs.
