CNC Machine Operator

Position Summary:

The EDM operator is responsible for the safe and accurate operation of EDM Sink Equipment. This position will have the opportunity for a Days and Afternoons rotating shift.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Understand and comply with the worker responsibilities and rights as outlined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OH&S) of Ontario, as well as, the Company’s safety rules/procedures in the Orlick Employee Handbook.
• Understand and comply with Orlick’s policies, procedures and standards of conduct as outlined in the Orlick Employee Handbook.
• Maintain an excellent attendance and punctuality record
• Perform tasks in accordance with detailed instructions.
• Determine the most efficient order of operations required to complete tasks within given time and dimensional requirements.
• Use measuring equipment to ensure size and finish requirements are met or exceeded.
• Read and interpret prints, drawings, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
• Safely utilize all hand and power tools necessary to complete assigned tasks
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Assist other Tool Shop personnel as directed.
• Communicate and work effectively with other members of the Company.

Skills & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
• Metal Cutting Trade Designation (Machinist, Mold, Pattern or Tool Maker license) or equivalent experience with EDM Sinkers
• 1 year of metal cutting trade experience
• Must be able to perform CAD/CAM
• CNC Machining experience is required
• Experience with Esprit software an asset
• Proven Blueprint reading skills.
• Provide accurate results from the use of measuring equipment.
• Perform troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  
• Demonstrate strong time management and job planning skills.
• Work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Read, write and clearly communicate in the English language.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal and team building skills.
