MACRO ANALYST INTERN

Our 9-week internship programme in Amsterdam is your chance to experience life as a Macro Analyst at IMC. As a Macro Analyst Intern, you will delve into the proprietary trading landscape during the first week of engaging and challenging classroom-based learning. You will have the opportunity hone your skills and apply what you’ve learned with a meaningful project and weekly trading challenges. Throughout the summer, you will receive comprehensive support from dedicated internship trainers, and mentors to guide you in your work and professional development. In our collaborative office environment, you will build a valuable network of IMC traders, researchers, analysts, and engineers. YOUR CORE RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Prepare daily analysis on headlines and trends communicated via Stand-Up sessions and email
  • Prepare for and analyse events such as central bank meetings, data releases, elections, corporate earnings releases
  • Work with the analyst teams and with Traders to find opportunities which other market participants may not be aware of, or are interpreting in a different way
  • Hone your skills by working on significant projects; such as time series analysis related to the volatility of events and realized moves. To spot patterns. To spot potential regime shifts. To build scenarios.
  • Explore our different trading desks through desk shadow sessions
  • Attend workshops, trainings, and other fun social activities alongside the full internship cohort

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

  • In your penultimate year of studying Economics, Econometrics, Finance or STEM, graduating in 2028
  • Demonstrated interest in the financial markets and macro economics
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • You want to make an impact on meaningful and challenging projects
  • You thrive working in an environment where creativity, teamwork, and innovation are recognised and rewarded
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in a programming language is a plus (e.g. Python, Matlab, or R)
  • Must be able to start the internship on June 28, 2027
