Mainframe DB2 System Engineer

The IT System Management function is responsible for scanning, evaluating, selecting, adopting, and decommissioning core technologies within Euroclear’s IT infrastructure. This role involves maintaining strong relationships with key technology providers, developing a consistent technology strategy, and managing lifecycle plans supported by forward-looking hardware and software budgets (CAPEX and OPEX).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, implement, and support IT infrastructure solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Perform technical planning to select and implement cost-effective technologies that support business needs.
  • Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting for infrastructure issues.
  • Assess compatibility and integration of proposed standard products/services to ensure cohesive architecture across technologies.
  • Ensure systems are properly operated, maintained, and evolved successfully.

Role Overview:

  • Deliver system expertise in a specific technology, working largely autonomously across various projects and tasks.
  • Implement standard complex systems and contribute to the design of new technical solutions.
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for specific products and drive efficient support and maintenance.
  • May lead and assess performance of a team of IT professionals.

Required Qualifications:

  • DB2 System Administration & Utilities
  • MQ System Administration
  • z/OS System Programming + USS experience
  • Certificate-based Security Management
  • QMF (TSO/Workstation/Websphere)
  • JCL, SDSF, PL/1, Rexx
  • DB2 Monitoring (CA Insight)

Nice to Have:

  • SAS software installation (Mainframe & Distributed)
  • DB2 Connect
  • DB2 Application Administration
  • IDAA implementation experience
