Summary
QA automation engineer (5+ years) testing mainframe-based telecom applications. Combines mainframe knowledge (COBOL/CICS/JCL/DB2) with end-to-end test automation in Selenium with Java or Playwright, wired into Jenkins CI/CD pipelines, using Maven, GitHub, JIRA/ALM for defect management, with mentoring of junior testers.
Role & responsibilities
- Solid working knowledge of mainframe applications, with exposure to environments such as COBOL, CICS, JCL, or DB2 (preferred).
- 5+ years of total experience with Quality Engineering/Assurance
• Experience in telecom domain (Preferred)
• Good knowledge in JAVA and tool experience in Maven, GitHub and Jenkins
• Hands on Experience in Selenium automation scripting using Java
Or
- Hands-on experience with Playwright for end-to-end test automation, including building and maintaining reliable, scalable test scripts.
- Experience in JIRA and Agile Methodology(Preferred)
• Sound Knowledge/Understanding of Telecom OSS/BSS
• Basic knowledge on End to End Telecom application flows
• Strong knowledge in Test Case preparation, execution and reporting
• Strong understanding of STLC and proven experience in testing standards, tools,processes and methodologies
• Preparation of test artifacts, reports and defect management in JIRA or ALM
• Should take up responsibility and should be fast learner
• Experience or Good understanding of CI/CD tools eg. Jenkins and related plugins. Configure automated tests to execute reliably and efficiently in CI/CD environments.
• Mentor and guide junior automation testers, sharing your expertise in automation techniques, coding standards, and telecom domain knowledge.
