Hiring: Technical Lead QA Engineer Mainframe Modernization

Location: Hyderabad, India (Hybrid)
Experience: 8 - 11 Years
Job Type: Full-Time

Mainframe: COBOL, JCL, copybooks, DB2 z/OS, IMS DB/IMS DC, VSAM, CICS, TSO/ISPF

Mainframe Testing: Parallel run testing, batch equivalence, data migration validation, regression, integration, and cutover testing
Automation: Strong Python, pytest, pandas, boto3
Go: Working proficiency in Go for test utilities and data reconciliation
AWS: S3, Lambda, RDS/Aurora, DMS, IAM, CloudWatch
Database: Strong SQL skills in DB2 and PostgreSQL
Tools: CA-7/Control-M, Git, Jira, CI/CD pipelines
AI-Assisted Testing: Hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar AI tools for test generation, code analysis, and automation
Data Validation: Fixed-width files, COMP-3 packed decimal, checksums, and field-level reconciliation

Key Responsibilities

Own QA strategy and test planning for mainframe modernization.
Analyze COBOL/JCL logic to derive test scenarios and expected results.
Validate legacy and AWS application outputs through parallel testing.
Automate data reconciliation and batch validation using Python and Go.
Ensure migration accuracy, performance, recovery, and cutover readiness.
Apply AI-assisted testing practices while adhering to data security and compliance requirements.

Required Experience

810 years of overall QA experience, including at least 4 years in mainframe testing.
Hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMS, VSAM, and CICS.
Strong Python automation skills and working knowledge of Go.
Practical experience in mainframe-to-cloud modernization testing.
Ability to lead QA activities and collaborate with mainframe and cloud engineering teams.

Preferred: Healthcare payer domain experience, claims/eligibility systems, AWS Mainframe Modernization, and X12 EDI/HL7/FHIR knowledge.
