About The Role
The Maintenance Technician supports the overall cleanliness, safety, and functionality of Banner House by performing a combination of janitorial, repair, and preventative maintenance tasks. This role ensures that all facilities, equipment, and systems operate smoothly and meet established standards for appearance and safety.
What You'll Do
Janitorial, Maintenance & Repair
- Maintain all areas to meet cleanliness, safety, and operational standards.
- Remove trash and recycling in assigned spaces.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Assist with general building repairs, including carpentry and flooring.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify safety hazards, repair needs, and functional issues.
Preventative Maintenance
- Assist in developing and executing preventative maintenance schedules for all equipment.
- Complete tasks such as window cleaning, touch-up painting, filter changes, and floor care.
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained to extend lifespan and reduce downtime.
Work Order Management
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and leadership.
- Document, track, and complete work orders in the maintenance management system.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of lock-out/tag-out protocols.
- Store chemicals, tools, and equipment safely and maintain organized workspaces.
Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure their maintenance needs are met.
- Coordinate with outside vendors for specialized repairs, inspections, or larger projects.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience in facility maintenance, janitorial services, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, standing, and manual labor for extended periods.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and solid communication and organizational skills.
