Maintenance/Custodian

Walton's is seeking a reliable and self-motivated Maintenance Custodian to help keep our facility, equipment, and grounds clean, safe, and operating efficiently. This role combines custodial, maintenance, and groundskeeping responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in maintaining a well-kept facility, and can work independently to identify and address maintenance needs.

What You'll Do

• Perform routine custodial duties to maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary facility.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment.
• Complete minor repairs and general building maintenance tasks.
• Maintain facility grounds, including mowing, weed control, parking lot upkeep, and snow and ice removal.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment such as compressors, conveyors, compactors, and other facility equipment.
• Conduct quarterly facility inspections and document maintenance needs.
• Schedule and track maintenance and service requirements for HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Monitor and maintain service schedules for company fleet vehicles.
• Order, organize, and maintain inventories of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
• Coordinate with outside vendors for scheduled inspections and services, including fire protection, pest control, HVAC, and electrical contractors.
• Respond promptly to maintenance concerns and facility-related issues.
• Support additional facility and maintenance projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous custodial, maintenance, facilities, groundskeeping, or related experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance, mechanical systems, and repair practices.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, lawn care equipment, and maintenance equipment.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs is a plus.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Dependable with strong attention to detail and safety practices.
• Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to safely perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday.
