Maintenance/Distribution Technician
Summary
The Maintenance/Distribution Technician is responsible for providing day-to-day maintenance support and logistical assistance across all Head Start centers. This role ensures facilities are safe, clean, and functional while also managing the delivery and inventory of supplies and equipment. The technician plays a vital role in supporting a safe and efficient environment for children, families, and staff.
Facility Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance tasks including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC upkeep. Conduct daily inspections to ensure centers are in safe and operational condition. Respond promptly to maintenance requests submitted by site staff or administrators. Assist with setup and breakdown of furniture, equipment, and classroom materials as needed. Ensure all Head Start centers are compliant with health and safety regulations.
Distribution & Logistics
Deliver supplies and educational materials to centers according to delivery schedules. Maintain inventory of supplies and report low stock or reorder needs to appropriate personnel. Load and unload deliveries, ensuring items are handled with care and accountability.
General Support
Maintain organized records of maintenance requests, completed work, and delivery logs. Assist with emergency response efforts (e.g., weather prep, facility closures). Communicate effectively with staff to prioritize urgent needs and ensure responsive service.
