Maintenance Engineer (5 Days | Building Facility | Electrical & Instrumentation)
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Maintenance Engineer to support the maintenance and reliability of manufacturing equipment, utilities, and building facilities within a chemical manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will be part of the Technical Department and play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and uninterrupted plant operations through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, contractor management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM
Responsibilities
Maintenance & Reliability
Plan, coordinate, and execute preventive maintenance activities for manufacturing equipment.
Coordinate calibration and maintenance of instruments and measuring equipment (IMTE).
Plan and manage routine and ad-hoc maintenance activities for facilities and utility systems.
Perform hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation systems.
Conduct fault diagnosis and basic troubleshooting of PLC-controlled equipment, SCADA, and HMI systems.
Engineering & Projects
Support equipment installation, upgrades, modifications, and improvement projects.
Assist in feasibility studies, planning, and implementation of engineering initiatives.
Liaise with and supervise contractors to ensure maintenance works are carried out safely and effectively.
Prepare technical documentation, including work procedures, training materials, approval documents, and submissions to relevant authorities.
Inventory & Procurement Support
Manage and monitor spare parts inventory.
Source quotations, negotiate pricing, and coordinate procurement activities for maintenance requirements.
EHS & Compliance
Support Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) activities and initiatives.
Participate in risk assessments, FMEA, and safety improvement programs.
Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and ISO management systems.
Support compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
Requirements
Degree in Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline with a minimum of 2 years' relevant experience; OR
Diploma in the above disciplines with a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience.
Basic to working knowledge of PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems.
Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and fault diagnosis of automated plant systems.
Understanding of electrical systems and/or instrumentation.
Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
Familiarity with Risk Assessment and FMEA methodologies.
Knowledge of EHS requirements and ISO management systems.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
Experience in chemical plants, process plants, or industrial manufacturing environments.
LEW Licence will be an advantage.
AutoCAD knowledge will be an advantage.
