Maintenance Engineer (Access Control & Security Systems) | Up to $5000
Summary
Maintain and troubleshoot access control and security systems for government and enterprise clients, including LenelS2 OnGuard, Genetec, and Axis/Milestone video systems.
This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy troubleshooting complex systems, solving technical challenges, and working in fast-paced environments supporting government and enterprise clients.
Key Responsibilities
System Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Serve as the first and second-level technical escalation point for maintenance-related issues.
Perform on-site troubleshooting, diagnosis, and resolution of hardware, software, and network-related faults.
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.
Replace faulty hardware, perform firmware upgrades, software patching, and system optimization.
Coordinate with vendors for advanced technical support, bug fixes, and system updates.
Security Systems Support
Configure, maintain, and optimize access control and video management systems.
Support controller configurations, card readers, credential management, biometric authentication, and access permissions.
Troubleshoot integrations between security subsystems and enterprise platforms.
Ensure systems remain secure, stable, and operational in mission-critical environments.
Preventive Maintenance & Documentation
Execute preventive maintenance schedules and routine system health checks.
Recommend upgrade strategies and lifecycle management plans.
Prepare detailed service reports and maintain accurate technical documentation.
Update system design documentation whenever hardware or software changes are implemented.
Preferred Technical Experience
Experience with one or more of the following platforms:
LenelS2 OnGuard
HID / Mercury-based Access Control Systems
Genetec
Suprema
ZKTeco
Axis Communications
Milestone Video Management Systems (VMS)
Requirements:
Diploma / Nitec in IT, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related field.
Technical certifications in CCTV and Access Control systems are highly recommended.
4 – 5 years of hands-on experience
Strong understanding of:
Network connection
SQL databases, Windows Server, virtualized environments
Door hardware (maglocks, strikes, sensors, interlocks)
Identity and access management principles
Video Management Software
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose both software and hardware issues.
Able to perform standby or after-hours support upon fault call activated on rotation basis
