Maintenance Engineer (Electronics, IT, Network)
You will be responsible for the maintenance of electronics IT security systems onboard surface vessels and shore facilities including firewalls, servers, intrusion detection systems, endpoint protection, VMware, SIEM, and PAM. You will work closely with other engineers, Service Delivery. Managers and Project Managers to deliver quality maintenance services to our customers. Collaborate with vendors to ensure infrastructure health, and manage patching processes for systems, applications, and network devices. Proficiency in networking technologies, system hardening, and vulnerability assessment is preferred. You will have opportunities to be shortlisted for participation in short-term overseas attachment and training courses. You will have opportunities to manage maintenance operations at team, workshop, or department level.
- Work with the Superintendent to upkeep the systems onboard the naval platforms at a highest state of availability and readiness.
- Perform maintenance tasks onboard vessels, workshop and shipyards
- Perform defect troubleshooting on systems
- Perform installation/removal work for equipment/systems
- Perform refurbishment of electronics unit/assemblies
Requirements:
- Knowledge in Engineering, IT, Networks, Cybersecurity or equivalent
- Naval related maintenance training certifications would be advantageous
- Good working knowledge and experience working on-board commercial and military vessels on underwater, mechanical electronics / electrical systems
- Good working knowledge and experience on computer software (words, excel).
- Able to work well in a team and independently as when required.
- Able to work with challenging customers.
- Able to work outdoors and onboard naval platforms.
- Able to sail for up to a week if required.
