Maintenance Engineer
Job Summary: Repair and maintain all machinery, mechanical equipment and electromechanical devices and systems throughout the facility. Makes daily rounds checking on predetermined temperatures and pressure gauges and the over-all condition of all mechanical equipment.
Major Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair steam generation/distribution systems and ancillary equipment.
- Maintain and repair electrical equipment and appliances, lighting, and power distribution systems
- Maintain minor repairs to emergency generator and ancillary equipment
- Maintain and repair heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems and ancillary equipment
- Perform basic painting, plastering and concrete work
- Maintenance and repair of basic carpentry and minor construction
- Maintenance and repair of basic plumbing systems, install basic fixtures
- Use and maintain common hand and power tools
- Perform routine maintenance of medical center grounds
- Drive light truck to make pick ups and deliveries in local area
- Clean work areas, including mechanical rooms and shop
- Understands and observes all medical center procedures and safety precautions relating to the proper handling, shipping, and disposal of sharps and hazardous materials
Skills, Education and Experience:
- Certified in plumbing, electrical and/or HVAC or associated trade experience preferred
- Mechanical aptitude desirable
