Maintenance Engineer

Job Brief

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the continuous operation, safety, and reliability of all plant machinery, equipment, and facilities.

The role involves overseeing daily on-site operations, coordinating among all relevant internal and external team members (including contractors and field workers),managing preventive maintenance schedules, and ensuring that projects progress smoothly, on schedule, and in full compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Handle repairs and ensure that machinery is in good working order
  • Oversee contractors when professional repairs are necessary
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and correct them
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures
  • Maintain documentation of work carried out
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to develop maintenance strategies

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a maintenance engineer
  • Strong understanding of general maintenance procedures
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an eye for detail
  • Good physical condition and aptitude in using various hand tools
  • BSc/BA in engineering, building science or relevant field is preferred
  • Able to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with workplace safety regulations and safe work practices.
  • Experience in plant, manufacturing, industrial, or facilities maintenance is preferred.
