Job Overview
We are looking for a hands-on and experienced Maintenance Engineer to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement of our InstaChef smart vending machines and related equipment.
The role will be responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance, breakdown recovery, technical troubleshooting, and equipment improvement to ensure reliable machine performance and minimize operational downtime. You will also work closely with operations and other internal teams to support machine deployment, upgrades, and day-to-day technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting, repair, and recovery of machines and equipment to minimize operational downtime
- Carry out preventive maintenance, calibration, servicing, and corrective repair works according to schedule
- Diagnose and rectify electrical, mechanical, and basic automation system faults
- Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, quality, and safety
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, faults, and works performed
- Support machine installation, upgrading, testing, and software/hardware changes
- Provide technical and engineering support to operations for machine-related issues
- Attend to on-site technical issues and provide timely resolution when required
- Coordinate with internal teams on machine deployment, maintenance schedules, and operational requirements
- Provide basic customer support for machine-related enquiries or issues when required
- Support logistics, machine replenishment, or other operational activities when necessary
- Perform other technical and operational duties as assigned
Requirements
- Diploma, NITEC, Higher NITEC, NTC-2, ITC or equivalent qualification in Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or a related discipline
- 4–5 years of relevant hands-on experience in equipment maintenance, automation systems, field service, or a related technical environment
- Basic knowledge of PLC, electrical systems, mechanical systems, and troubleshooting
- Strong hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Able to diagnose equipment faults and carry out repairs independently
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Meticulous, resourceful, and results-oriented
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple maintenance requirements
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with operations and technical teams
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Comfortable travelling to different machine locations across Singapore when required
