Maintenance & Facilities Manager
Job Description:
Position serves as direction for the maintenance and changeover crews to manage and oversee continuous improvement towards plant reliability and OEE (Optimum Efficiency Effectiveness). To coordinate all mechanical and/or electrical work with plant managers, supervisors, and support staff. Develop and manage preventive/predictive maintenance programs along with the budget of these areas.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct and support safety efforts to resolve safety concerns and monitor compliance.
- Develop and set crew expectations relative to performance of responsibilities and change-over times.
- Forecast, develop, and manage the maintenance budget.
- Champion the precision maintenance effort in the crew. Develop and lead preventative/predictive maintenance, including working with Hydraulics, Electrical, Pneumatic, Power Transmissions, vibration analysis, balancing, alignment, oil analysis and NDT.
- Manage crew planning and scheduling effort by setting priorities for the planners and lead people.
- Communicate with maintenance and operational personnel to notify of potential problems, outage planning, long and short-term planning, availability of equipment for service, etc.
- Work closely with vendors, regulatory agencies, corporate engineering and project managers to accomplish plant goals and objectives
- Manage computer-based maintenance programs (E-maint or equivalent) that tracks activities, schedules, labor, and parts building a history on equipment.
- Lead staff development in hiring practices, orientation, training, and evaluating & guiding performance.
- Promote and actively use North and South maintenance “Daily Maintenance Board” and other appropriate tools to improve equipment reliabilities.
- Participate in capital projects as necessary.
- Ensure that (where applicable) the supply chain is made aware of their food safety obligations as our partner in the quest to deliver a safe product to the consuming public.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position is a first level manager and is accountable for multiple units or groups through the direct supervision of at least two subordinate supervisors; the subordinate supervisors manage three or more employees. Typical responsibilities may include: having signature authority for actions and decisions that directly impact pay, status, and tenure; signature authority for corrective/disciplinary actions and performance appraisal plans; initiating the hiring, promotion or transfer process
