Maintenance Hand

We are looking for a Talented Maintenance Hand to join our team in Goonoo. Goonoo Feedlot & Station is situated in the Central Highlands of Queensland, 65km southeast of Emerald, and is a specialised Wagyu feedlot & backgrounding operation, feeding 45,000 head of Wagyu cattle for both international and domestic markets.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager/ Line Leader, your key duties will include:

  • Complete daily scraping of pen surfaces.
  • Pushing manure in fence lines and carting manure to stockpiles.
  • Maintenance around the Feedlots, Feedmill and Vehicles.
  • Ensure workplace health and safety is maintained and procedures are followed.
  • Maintain vehicle, plant and machinery and undertake regular services on over-hauls.
  • Complete fabrications, welding and assembling of structural metal products.
  • Assisting with general maintenance of building and station structures.

Requirements:

  • Current Drivers Licence (Heavy vehicle licence where applicable)
  • Ability to work both alone and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to organise/prioritise tasks and meet deadlines, whilst working under pressure
  • Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility - able to meet changing requirements
  • Initiative - ability to take quick action when required and actively pursue opportunities to make further contributions
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance Programs.
  • Experience with diesel motor vehicles.
  • Experience in operating loaders, tractors, tipper trucks
  • Strong structural welding or fabrication with fit-out experience (Mig, oxy etc) with the ability to read drawings and follow instructions.
