Central Valley Meat is looking for a detail-oriented, hard-working Maintenance Lead For The Kill Floor Department.
Summary
Support coordinates activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment; and in maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems of industrial plant.
Responsibilities
- Organizes work for a team of maintenance mechanics and performs maintenance work from job orders assigned by supervisor.
- Ensures employees comply with all safety and good Manufacturing Practices.
- Communicates to production and quality assurance equipment break downs and estimated time needed to complete repairs.
- Audits work of employees on the team to ensure job standards are met.
- Conveys all worker grievances to maintenance supervisor.
- Conducts meetings at the end of each shift to update incoming maintenance personnel on status of break downs, repairs, and troubleshooting done during the previous shift.
- Observes and listens to sounds of mechanical devices in operation to locate any signs of trouble.
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
- Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
- Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts.
- Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
- Lubricates and cleans parts, equipment, and machinery.
- Tests and adjusts equipment to meet performance specifications.
- Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, saws, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
- Sharpens and reshapes tools as necessary.
- Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
- Repairs electrical equipment.
- Operates Boilers and Chemical Treatment.
- Maintains a flexible schedule to accommodate variable shifts depending on maintenance workload.
- Participates and trains with the HazMat team.
