Central Valley Meat is looking for a detail-oriented, hard-working Maintenance Lead For The Kill Floor Department.

Summary

Support coordinates activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment; and in maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems of industrial plant.

Responsibilities

1. Organizes work for a team of maintenance mechanics and performs maintenance work from job orders assigned by supervisor.
2. Ensures employees comply with all safety and good Manufacturing Practices.
3. Communicates to production and quality assurance equipment break downs and estimated time needed to complete repairs.
4. Audits work of employees on the team to ensure job standards are met.
5. Conveys all worker grievances to maintenance supervisor.
6. Conducts meetings at the end of each shift to update incoming maintenance personnel on status of break downs, repairs, and troubleshooting done during the previous shift.
7. Observes and listens to sounds of mechanical devices in operation to locate any signs of trouble.
8. Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
9. Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
10. Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
11. Repairs or replaces defective parts.
12. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
13. Lubricates and cleans parts, equipment, and machinery.
14. Tests and adjusts equipment to meet performance specifications.
15. Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, saws, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
16. Sharpens and reshapes tools as necessary.
17. Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
18. Repairs electrical equipment.
19. Operates Boilers and Chemical Treatment.
20. Maintains a flexible schedule to accommodate variable shifts depending on maintenance workload.
21. Participates and trains with the HazMat team.
