Maintenance Manager (ECM 4)
The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and management of all maintenance activities related to the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express carriages and related equipment. This role ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the rolling stock by implementing effective maintenance strategies, managing a team of maintenance technicians, and adhering to all relevant regulations and standards (ECM 779/2019). The VSOE Maintenance Manager will also be responsible for budget management, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiative, under the leadership of the Engineering Manager.
Requirements
Maintenance Planning & Strategy :
· Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance plans and strategies to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the VSOE carriages.
· Conduct regular inspections and assessments of the rolling stock to identify maintenance needs.
· Develop and manage a preventive & corrective maintenance program to minimize equipment failures and downtime.
· Monitoring of the maintenance plan, together with Fleet Supervisor (ECM3), following the ECM Standard 2019/779 .
Maintenance Execution and Supervision:
· Oversee the execution of maintenance tasks, ensuring that work is performed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality and ECM standards.
· Troubleshoot and resolve complex maintenance issues, providing technical guidance and support to the maintenance team.
· Coordinate with other departments, such as operations and on-board Staff, to minimize disruptions to railway service.
· Manage maintenance resources, including equipment, materials, and tools, to ensure their availability and proper utilization
· Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes, reduce costs, and improve the reliability of the VSOE Carriages.
ECM 4:
· Ensure compliance with ECM regulations, standards, and safety requirements.
· Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation to meet regulatory requirements.
· Liaise with national safety agencies and participate in audits and inspections.
· Analyze maintenance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
· Develop and implement emergency response plans for maintenance-related incidents, such as derailments, equipment failures, and severe weather events.
Inventory Management:
· Manage the inventory of spare parts and materials, ensuring that adequate supplies are available to meet maintenance needs.
· Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste and obsolescence.
Budget Management:
· Develop and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring that expenditures are within approved limits, Prepare and submit budget reports to management.
