Maintenance Manager (KwaZulu-Natal, Zinkwazi)

ANEW Hotel Ocean Reef is seeking a reliable, hands-on, and technically minded Maintenance Manager to join our hotel team. The successful candidate will assist with the upkeep, maintenance, and repair of hotel facilities, equipment, and infrastructure to ensure a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for guests and employees.

The ideal candidate must have a proactive approach to maintenance, good problem-solving skills, and the ability to identify and address maintenance issues promptly. A strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments are essential to maintaining the hotel's operational standards and guest experience.

The successful candidate will be based at KwaZulu-Natal, Zinkwkazi.

Strategic Purpose

Lead ANEW Hotel’s maintenance operations to deliver exceptional guest experiences through proactive facility management, team development, and operational excellence. Drive continuous improvement while maintaining property standards that exceed guest expectations.

Leadership Responsibilities

Strategic Management

• Develop and implement preventative maintenance strategies

• Create and manage annual maintenance budgets

• Manage department KPIs and monitor performance through Infraspeak

• Drive energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives

• Oversee contractor relationships and service level agreements

• Lead continuous improvement projects

Team Leadership

• Build and develop a high-performing maintenance team

• Implement succession planning and career development programs

• Conduct monthly one-on-one development discussions

• Ensure comprehensive technical training programs

• Foster a culture of excellence and guest service

• Manage performance and provide coaching

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

Operational Excellence

• Oversee maintenance operations through Infraspeak:

o Preventative maintenance schedules

o Work order management

• Maintain property standards across:

o Building systems and infrastructure

o Guest rooms and public areas

o Grounds and landscaping

o Swimming pools and amenities

• Implement and monitor quality control systems

• Ensure regulatory compliance

Financial Management

• Develop and manage annual maintenance budgets

• Control operational costs while maintaining quality

• Analyse spending patterns and implement cost controls

• Create monthly financial reports

Technical Oversight

• Ensure maintenance of all hotel systems:

o Electrical and lighting
