We have an amazing opportunity for a Maintenance Manager (Racing) based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. Do you think you have what it takes to be our newest Purple Star?

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic oversight and operational support to Department Heads managing the daily maintenance, housekeeping, and groundskeeping teams. The objective is to ensure the pristine upkeep and safety of all buildings, racecourses, training facilities, and operational equipment. Additionally, the role is responsible for driving administrative efficiency and managing department budgets through regular expenditure reporting.

You Bring:

• Valid drivers licence
• 7 year's minimum Maintenance and Facilities Management experience

Bonus to have:

• Diploma/Degree in Facilities and maintenance management

What You’ll Do For The Brand:

Strategic Oversight & Team Leadership:

• Provide strategic direction and operational support to Department Heads managing daily maintenance, housekeeping, and groundskeeping teams.
• Enforce the execution of standard operating procedures (SOPs) designed by the National Facilities Manager and HODs.
• Directly manage, mentor, and oversee Maintenance Administrator(s).
• Conduct monthly alignment walk-arounds with HODs and ensure all in-house teams have the correct tools and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Maintenance, Plant & Critical Asset Management:

• Oversee comprehensive preventative maintenance, servicing, and repair schedules for all plant and equipment.
• Ensure absolute compliance with service schedules for Generators, Air-conditioning, Lifts, Fire equipment, and Solar systems.
• Provide rapid operational support and take immediate corrective actions during emergency breakdowns (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lifts, fire alarms, and TV equipment).

Operational Quality Control & Auditing:

• Review weekly snag list worksheets submitted by HODs and follow up on execution.
• Conduct regular weekly touchpoints with in-house technical and cleaning teams to provide expert input and troubleshooting support.
• Undertake regular national spot inspections and compile rigorous condition reports.

Contract Management & Procurement:

• Oversee the management, performance, and compliance of all external Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Screen, vet, and onboard potential new subcontractors and service providers into the national database.
• Manage the parts and equipment procurement pipeline via administrators, using strictly authorized purchase orders (POs) within board-approved limits.

Reporting & Financial Administration:

• Compile and present accurate weekly maintenance reports.
• Compile monthly maintenance expenditure reports, ensuring all invoices are tracked to permit the seamless completion of company financial reports.
