You will serve as a Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor, WG-4749-10 and be responsible for providing direction and oversight to workers in accomplishing the trade and labor work in the maintenance team within the Facilities Engineer, Public Works Branch.. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Directly supervise employees from various trade backgrounds by assigning work, setting performance expectations monitoring productivity, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with established standards. Ensure work assignments are properly planned by verifying the availability of materials, equipment, tools, blueprints, and supplies; monitor work progress, resolve operation issues, and communicate project status and delays to management. Promote and enforce compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies, and workplace conduct requirements including taking appropriate action to address harassment and discrimination concerns. Serves as the primary point of contact for resolving work-related questions, interpreting policies and technical procedures, mentoring employees, and ensuring personnel receive the training and resources necessary to perform assigned duties effectively.
