Maintenance Mechanic, Roll Shop

Phoenix Paper Wickliffe LLC is searching for qualified candidates to assume the role of Maintenance Mechanic, Roll Shop.

Summary: The Roll Shop mechanic works in the team to diagnose and repair complex machinery, manage preventive maintenance schedules, and troubleshooting issues during their shift to ensure equipment reliability and safety. This role requires performing skilled mechanical and electrical repairs, coaching junior technicians, maintaining a safe work environment, and completing documentation and reports.

Key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Working with the rest of the roll shop team to rebuild numerous different pieces of equipment
• Quick response to overflow work throughout the entire mill in the field
• Installation / repair of special projects
• Trouble Shoot RCA of failed mechanical components during tear down
• On schedule with Day shift Maintenance but open to call ins for any area

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• Knowledge of mechanical systems. (Bearing clearances, gear float, backlash, etc.)
• General welding / cutting knowledge (Stick welding, fabrication, cutting bearings off for removal)
• Basic machining understanding (Micrometer/ caliper reading)
• Basic ability to read and understand blueprints / drawings
• Commitment to safety
• Ability to think outside of the box to complete tasks
• Shows up for work
• Computer skills a bonus (SAP, storeroom cross ref, word, email)
