Maintenance Planner
About the job
To review, estimate and plan manpower requirements, material reservation, equipment and contractor or vendor requirements after discussion of correctness of work requests with concerned departments. To develop task lists for corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance, plant shutdowns and turnarounds in order to maintain all plants with available resources at maximum efficiency, minimum cost and reduce downtime of plants.
Key accountabilities
- Check incoming work orders for completeness, and interact with operations and execution supervisor to assess job status in the field before finalizing plan.
- Determine requirements for resources such as manpower, skills, estimated man hours, required material list, tools and safety considerations in consultation with execution supervisor in order to plan and requisition for the same.
- Check the priority of the work order and suggest the priorities to be changed from urgent to normal after analyzing the work, thus helping in reducing the maintenance cost by reducing unnecessary urgent jobs.
- Maintain information on backlog jobs pending due to material unavailable, wait for engineering aspects, vendor and follow up with concerned departments.
- Coordinate with warehouse unit to ensure the availability of all materials (stock items and non-stock items) required, reserved or ordered by concerned disciplines/sections to execute the major overhaul as per defined timelines and standards.
- Coordinate with various sections of the maintenance department, prepare plan/schedule and follow up the preventive maintenance for maintenance and modification activities to facilitate timely completion.
- Check the requirements of work orders raised by operation in area maintenance and schedule them as per the resources availability.
- Participate in developing alternative ideas to improve the existing planning maintenance procedures and services, and provide inputs and suggestions for continuous improvement.
- Monitor daily job progress and issue reports whilst recommending plans for further improvement.
- Prepare and review backlog reports and take necessary action to achieve a minimum level of backlog.

- Plan, organize and coordinate all activities in the assigned tasks and respective procedures to meet departmental objectives.
- Keep aware and knowledgeable about the respective process owners, policies, procedures, forms, and other relevant information.
- Support in the reporting of the respective section/department budgets and any cost-related activities.
- Contribute to the reporting of the approved performance objectives for the section/department in line with the company's performance framework and KPIs.
- Analyse and address any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.
- Draft, prepare, and recommend the required reports on work activities, projects, processes, etc. to next level manager in line with business requirements.
Processes & systems
- Implement approved respective policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the work programs.
- Perform the procedures/SOP in line with the respective processes and activities to ensure timely processing.
- Provide timely information to internal and external contacts in line with the approved policies and procedures.
- Provide feedback on updating and implementation of new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of processes.
- Ensure full compliance to quality management system's controlled documents, and implemented practices in line with ISO standards to ensure consistency in the respective processes.
- Adhere to professional business relations and commercial responsibilities in the areas of customer delight, data confidentiality, business communications and representation, and Borouge's corporate image.
Minimum requirements
- Diploma in relevant engineering discipline, or bachelor degree is preferred.
- At least 4 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in routine and shutdown maintenance planning, work control, contracting, budgetary and cost control procedures.
- Highly organized, ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of MS Office and CMMS (SAP) is needed.
- Knowledge of MS Project and Primavera is preferable.
- Understand the benefits of teamwork in a globally competitive organization.
- Excellent communication skills with good command of English.
- Knowledge and understanding of engineering standard specification, planning techniques, philosophy and processes existing in an oil & gas or petrochemical industry.
- Knowledge about the process operation and maintenance of plant equipment.
- Knowledge of equipment drawings and P&IDs.
